ABOUT DR. LEWIS

ev. Andrea Dais Lewis, Ph.D. is an ordained servant of God who delivers God’s word with a sweet spirit and in the authenticity of her ancestors. After experiencing a season of loss and detours, Dr. Andrea empowers women to successfully navigate the pivots of life.
She is an Associate Minister at Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Atlanta and founder of Virtuous Pearl Interdenominational Women’s Ministry, which studies God’s word through the experiences of women.
Dr. Andrea values and models academic excellence. A summa cum laude graduate of Spelman College, Dr. Andrea earned a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, Master of Divinity from Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Georgia State University.
Dr. Andrea’s past professional experiences include elementary school teacher, public and private school administrator, and college department chair. Through her current efforts as Director of Student Success and Associate Professor of the Education at Spelman College, Dr. Andrea works to ensure students receive equitable resources.

Dr. Andrea authored four books, Preservice Teachers, Social Class, and Race in Urban Schools: Experiences and Strategies for Teacher Preparation; Valerie's New Friends; Unsung Legacies of Educators and Events in African American Education, (co-authored); and S.H.E. Who Believed: Redefining Life through God’s Grace.

Dr. Andrea is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and member of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated; The Links, Incorporated; National Alumnae Association of Spelman College; and, YMCA of Metro Atlanta Board of Directors.
Her proudest accomplishment is being a mother to two amazing sons.
